About MeHello! I'm Rachel Ritton. I was born and raised in the middle of the U.S.A., in the "Good Life" state of Nebraska. Growing up I enjoyed being a band nerd and eating cheese runzas. My passions throughout my life include helping people and traveling. These eventually led to my current home, which is in Djibouti City, Djibouti.
I attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha where I completed two degrees; Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a mental health concentration and Master's in Social Work with a clinical concentration. I have a variety of experiences working with children and families over the past four years in Nebraska. These experiences include working in children's behavioral day treatment program, an adolescent treatment group home, and for agency-based foster care programs. I completed my advanced social work practicum as a therapist for children and adolescents who had been sexually abused or who had problematic sexual behaviors. My social work education allows me to provide therapy with a holistic approach. I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My specialties include but are not limited to: sexual abuse, trauma, behavioral disorders, family issues, life stressors, anxiety, and depression. I am also a member of the American Counseling Association. |
